Los Angeles, CA (December 11, 2018) – On the heels of the wildly popular “Cash for Clunkers” humidor trade-in program, Daniel Marshall has announced an unprecedented program, “Cash For Cigar Clunkers” and will pay customers for their clunker cigars. With the previous program, customers around the country were thrilled to trade in their clunker humidors for an upgrade to a Daniel Marshall. In the same way Marshall helped customers get into their dream humidor, he has designed his latest program to allow customers to elevate from their disappointing cigars to a cigar they can trust, a Cigar Aficionado 92 point rated Daniel Marshall Cigar.

Daniel Marshall is out to prove the attributes of the DM Cigar, the benefits of 1-year minimum box aging and is offering to pay customers for their partially smoked cigars. Every cigar enthusiast knows the feeling of being let down by a cigar where the expectation just did not measure up. Now disappointing cigars that did not draw or taste good can be redeemed for credit with Daniel Marshall.

The Daniel Marshall Red Label has received international accolades and “shares the shelves” with the best cigars, at the world’s most legendary and esteemed cigar merchants from Los Angeles to London, Dubai to Asia and Beirut. Dignitaries and celebrities worldwide enjoy Daniel Marshall cigars. Reported by Rake Magazine, in 2012 President Clinton bought the DM 24kt Red Label Golden Cigar at The Sahakian Cigar Lounge at London’s Bulgari Hotel. Business Week wrote on August 1, 2005, “The Governator loves his Daniel Marshalls so much he erected a smoking tent outside the California Capitol.“

Daniel Marshall Red Label Cigars made their debut in Cigar Aficionado’s September 1, 1997 issue. The balanced Nicaraguan Puro has an elegance, finesse and richness that define the DM Cigar. The Red is a cigar rich with chocolate and espresso, inspired by Marshall’s Saturday Harley rides up the coast with friends where he desired a cigar to evoke his favorite mocha.

“The DM Red Label was designed with a rich and smooth profile. My wish is for cigar “tasters” everywhere to savor the difference, quality, and benefits of box aging in our cigar rolled in Nicaragua, originally co-created by not one but two cigar legends, Manuel Quesada and Nestor Plasencia,” said Marshall. “Our Cash for Clunker Humidor program exposed cigar fans to the upper echelon of cigar aging and preservation, now it’s our goal to provide the same top quality experience with our cigars.”

To participate in the program, customers can request a prepaid mailing label from Daniel Marshall and send in their banded, partially smoked “clunker” cigars. In exchange, Daniel Marshall will provide a $2 credit per cigar clunker to be used towards the purchase of Daniel Marshall cigars at designated retailers nationwide.

Daniel Marshall Brings Modern Day Campfire to Historic Movie Studio’s Theme Park

Daniel Marshall Brings Modern Day Campfire to Historic Movie Studio’s Theme Park

Los Angeles, CA (Nov 7, 2018)– Daniel Marshall continues to take his “Modern Day Campfires” around the world. His latest creation, “Cigars Meet Movies” brought Marshall’s Campfire to the oldest movie studio in the world, Babelsberg Studio’s Theme Park in Potsdam Berlin, making it the world’s first cigar event in a major motion picture studios film park.

The storied Babelsberg began operation in 1912 and is home to some of the world’s most beloved movies such as Mad Max, Mission Impossible,The Hunger Games, Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds, George Clooney’s, The Monument’s Men, Around the World in 80 Days with Jackie Chan and Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tom Hank’s Bridge of Spies and the Bourne Ultimatum. Guests of the event walked in the footsteps of film history’s iconic directors and stars, from Marlene Dietrich to Clint Eastwood.

Guests were treated to a private tour of the famous sets and iconic film property of Europe’s largest film studio, while enjoying their Cigar Aficionado 92-Rated Daniel Marshall Red Label Cigars. Following the VIP backstage tour of the theme park, personally guided by owner, Friedhelm Schatz, guests enjoyed cast and crew catering, unlimited drinks, and the opportunity to buy autographed boxes of DM Cigars and win raffle prizes.

The event, a collaboration between Marshall, Schatz, and Manuela Simon of Tabakhaus Simon, was a true reminder of the extraordinary friendships forged over cigars. According to Marshall, he and Schatz “previously met for half an hour, and two years later we are hosting a real ‘Mission Impossible’ Modern Day Campfire in his theme park. Without the power of the cigar to create this improbable friendship, this golden moment would never have happened.”

Marshall noted the excitement surrounding Berlin becoming the epicenter of art, film and culture. “I was so proud to bring the Campfire to Potsdam Berlin, a town where Sir Winston Churchill, Stalin, and President Harry Truman met during the Potsdam Conference to decide how to administer Germany and negotiate terms to end World War II, no doubt sharing a fine cigar during this historic meeting.”

Twenty-five years ago, Friedhelm Schatz, the mastermind behind the Filmpark, envisioned the park as it is today. Over 3000 visitors from around the world enjoy the park daily. Daniel Marshall was honored to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Mr. Schatz’s dream with a memorable night at “Cigars Meet Movies.”

Guests included a cross-section of Berlin’s diverse population including military officers, business tycoons, entrepreneurs, actors, producers, artists, and photographers. Marshall shared stories with the group correlating Daniel Marshall with Hollywood film greats who have experienced Daniel Marshall’s cigars and humidors including Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, Nick Jonas, President Clinton, and Steve Harvey.

Sevilla Local Media, founder & President, Tommy Sevilla, is a 35 year veteran of the music industry and was a Reggae Music Industry prodigy and pioneer at age 14. Tommy began booking and managing local, national and international music acts, as well as becoming a contributing writer to local music magazines, also stage managing, tour managing, and promoting local concerts and national tours for and with such luminaries or unique talents as: Two-Time JUNO Award-Winning Canadian Dub Poet – Lillian Allen, Mutabaruka & The Sounds of Resistance Band, Eek-a-Mouse, Leroy Sibbles, Pato Banton, Tippa Irie, Rankin’ Scroo, Bass Culture, Joe Higgs, Norman Grant & Twinkle Brothers, Tristan Palma, Phillip Frazer, Boom Shaka, Untouchables, Killer Bees, Blues/Jazz Legend – Phil Upchurch and others.

Many shows of which he partnered up with or assisted friend, Roberto Angotti, of KNAC & KROQ “Reggae Revolution” fame.

Tommy’s original business partner in the music industry, along with Sean Mc Gary was James “Jim” Roppo, Executive Vice-President of Universal Music Group – Republic Records, and of Justin Bieber – “failure to tweet” fame.

Tommy was also a contemporary of long-time friend, Kevin Lyman, founder of the Vans Warped Tour. Contributing to the original Claremont California – Claremont Colleges Music Scene.

Tommy, recalling the good times of the 1980’s Reggae Scene:

“I have fond memories of my youth as a fan of Reggae Music and being a part of Los Angeles Reggae Music history, especially. I was there at Bunny Wailer’s first state-side appearance in Long Beach, back in the 80’s. I remember vividly, the historic Fela Anikulapo Kuti concert at the Olympic Auditorium, me and champion bubbler, Clinton Dove, watching Fela, with his massive horn section, 2 drummers, and huge harmony vocals secition (all of his many wives), alongside Flea and Anthony Keides of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, also there as young fans.

Alpha Blondy’s first show in L.A. was also monumental.

The late Milt Wilson, truly produced the best shows at that time; the Music Machine was legendary, even a place where I, all but 17 or so and not even allowed in, stepped on Mutabaruka’s barefoot and evoked a “Raaas Claaat” like I never heard before. I would later promote a few shows and spoken word readings with him and his incredible band.

Perhaps the greatest musical experience I ever had though was a show that Me, Jim and Sean produced, the unique Strictly Roots of Northern California at Claremont Mc Kenna College where, it was like Reggae meets the Allman Brothers and every song was a 12 minute, psychedelic lead guitar solo.

I will never forget interviewing Rita Marley and her kids, along with mother Cedella, at the Bob Marley Day Festival, and later in years, smoking a huge spliff with Aston “Family Man Barrett” and the rest of the Wailers, at the Country Club in Reseda.

Licking the 5′ tall, saxophone like chalice, packed with ice and Lambsbread Colli from the Blue Mountains, with Ras Michael, the late Derrick “Debo” Brown, Clive Ross, Zacky and others, was unforgettable, as I was promoting the great Leroy Sibbles that night, backed by Jamaica Inc, at the iconic and legendary Kingston 12 in Santa Monica.

Especially cool was being backstage at the Greek for the 2 night Steel Pulse and Jimmy Cliff shows when, I see Earl “Flabba” Holt standing outside, unable to get in, as his name was left of the guest list by mistake. I was able to convince security to allow him in and ironically enough, had an almost identical experience with Judy Mowatt and her entire entourage at the Universal Amphitheatre for UB40. Me and Clinton Dove, literally watched the show from in and out of the aisle, giving up our seats fro Judy and her posse, repeatedly being warned and pushed back into the seats.

Linton Kwesi Johnson at the Conga Room, was also a one of a kind experience.

Ali, Robin, Astro and Brian Travers, among others like Joe Higgs and Garth Dennis, would be guests of ours backstage at the Whiskey for our show with Eek-a-Mouse, Rankin’ Scroo & Ginger and Ridim Section. Me, Sean and Jim promoted the “King and I” Tour for Mouse in 1987.

We hosted H.R. from Bad Brains at our apartment in Pomona, California, for several weeks. A truly different cat, I still don’t know how or why, but he was with us all that time – on our dime – and barely spoke a word!

Driving home an angry (not at me) Mikey Dread, was also memorable (laughing), and scrapping with Prince Ital Joe, backstage at the Coach House and being followed on the 5 North, is not something me and my bredren Clinton particularly enjoyed.

Ginger, Rankin’ Scroo’s beautiful and talented wife, literally saved my life on tour with Eek-a-Mouse, in Santa Barbara.

How can I ever forget spending time at Roger Steffens’ house with the great Dub Poetess, Lillian Allen, marveling at Roger’s immense Reggae Music Archives.

Me and Tony Montgomery of Bass Culture, are still recovering from our sensi session with Mouse at the motel I put him up at in Pomona. A few warm Guinness and some Humboldt County one-of-a-kind, had us in a nice place, with air conditioning inside and 100 + degree heat outside. We were literally blinded by the light upon exit.

I owe all these fond memories to my uncle Donny, who introduced me to Reggae Music, at about age 12, and longtime friend Tony Montgomery of Bass Culture, who took me to my first Reggae show in Santa Monica, where the Meditations, headlined.

Getting into the business and doing some pretty cool things at a young age and until I was about 20 years old, was due to the mentoring and guidance of Rita “Miss Wire Waist” Harrison (Smoothie’s Auntie) of KPFK – “Sounds of Jamaica fame; a place where Tony, Fred, Donny, Dan and Pablo of Bass Culture, played live, and where we happened to meet the young, rambunctious youngster – a few years older than me – Trevy Felix of Boom Shaka.

Her, Stamma Haughton, Joe Higgs and Stranger Cole, were some of my absolute favorite people in an out of the industry.

I remember walking to the pay phone on 3rd Street in La Verne to use call Jamaica, Birmingham England, Toronto Canada, and other parts of the world, to do my business, with a pocket full of dimes, after running up thousand dollar phone bills!

I can go on and on but know that my memories are fond and great and it’s nice – so many years later – with some refined expertise and wisdom, to develop this site which I hope all will take full advantage of.

I only wish I had something like this when I was in the business.”

Most recently, Tommy has returned to the music scene with Sevilla Local Media’s association with Reggae Dance Hall Artist, Cham, and for the purpose of promoting Cham’s latest release, “Money Wine” and his official website.

Tommy continues to support and contribute to the careers of Lillian Allen, Rankin’ Scroo and Smoothie Jones’ – 213 LA. Rootz Band.

The marriage between Tommy’s Digital Marketing & SEO company and his passion for Reggae Music, is a raging fire that benefits and equips all who share the love of the music.

Tommy, after a secular career in sales and management, recently returned to the world of event promotion as founder of Sevilla Local Media, when he created the cigar-industry website: www.GreatCigarEvents.com , a website created to bring attention to looming FDA Regulations of the Premium Cigar Industry and to promote the Rocky Patel Cigar Yacht Cruise, which also draws attention to Rocky’s charity – The Rocky Patel Foundation.

The last Rocky Patel Cigar Yacht Cruise featured acclaimed indie artist – Marisa Ronstadt. The multi-talented cousin of the legendary, Linda Ronstadt.

Lord willing, Sevilla Local Media will soon launch a similar site that will invite all types of music to join that general music community, among many more, including a site that embodies Tommy’s true passion: Christian Biblical Apologetics.

Having coined the phrase in the early 90’s, Tommy has written “Apologetic Poetry”.

Sevilla Local Media, has recently developed and donated an e-commerce website for non-profit – Jurupa Valley Boxing Club, where Tommy and his 16-year old daughter, Sophia, train. That site is set to launch soon, and is meant to raise money for the gym and it’s athletes.

Sevilla Local Media, has a network of sites of their own and has donated, consulted on or developed new sites for hundreds of local, national and international clients, ranging from: local government, local chambers of commerce, tree service companies, auto repair, restaurants, attorneys, escape rooms, day care centers, and numerous other industries, but is particularly famous and sought out after for their Insurance, Real Estate, Cigar Industry and Law Firm/Attorney SEO.

Top Premium Cigar Retailer Launches Cigar Smokers’ Rights Guide;
Famous Smoke Shop Details Effects of Newly-Enacted FDA Cigar Regulations

http://fda.famous-smoke.com/
EASTON, PA–(Marketwired – March 30, 2017) – Famous Smoke Shop, the leading online distributor of discounted premium cigars, has debuted their new interactive Cigar Smokers’ Rights Hub. Crafted in response to the US Food & Drug Administration’s 2016 Final Deeming Rule regarding premium cigars and other tobacco products, the Famous Smoke guide presents cigar enthusiasts with a history of legal actions affecting the tobacco industry. The Smokers’ Rights Hub also offers cigar smokers a detailed understanding of how FDA’s new regulations will negatively impact the premium cigar industry, and the legal challenges that have been mounted against the agency’s sweeping new rules.
“The rights of adult cigar enthusiasts to purchase and enjoy a completely legal product are quickly going up in flames.” Arthur Zaretsky is the president and owner of Famous Smoke Shop, who has launched a Cigar Smokers’ Rights Hub — a website devoted to educating consumers about the Food & Drug Administration’s Final Deeming Rule concerning premium cigars. FDA released 499 pages of new and strict cigar regulations in August of 2016, filled with measures, rulings, definitions and fees that “completely overstepped the authority FDA was given by Congress to regulate tobacco,” says Zaretsky. His company’s goal is to inform customers — and cigar enthusiasts at large — about how these rules are shortchanging consumers, unfair to business and in violation of US law. “The agency is going at this regulation, and the costs associated with compliance, blindly. FDA has failed to perform an adequate, legitimate cost-benefit analysis of the Final Rule’s economic impact on small businesses, as is required by the Regulatory Flexibility Act,” says Zaretsky, who adds, “the FDA is defying the law.”
The Smokers’ Rights Hub notes significant factors that distinguish cigars from cigarettes. Their contents, and how their made, are vastly different, says Cigar Advisor Managing Editor John Pullo: “premium cigars are made entirely by hand, with whole tobacco leaf. Cigarettes are vastly different — they’re made on high speed machines, in bulk, using chopped tobaccos and additives. Cigars and cigarettes are very different, and shouldn’t be treated the same way.” In spite of those differences, FDA is now regulating premium cigars in the same way as cigarettes — and has put into place significant restrictions on the blending of new cigars, levying of fees on cigar makers to have their products chemically tested and kept on the market for sale, as well as reclassifying retailers as “manufacturers” for selling cigar samplers and house pipe blends. These vast new changes have prompted the premium cigar industry to sue the FDA on Constitutional grounds.
The history of modern governmental regulation over tobacco stretches 50 years, according to the Cigar Smokers’ Rights timeline. “All the while, the federal government has slowly — and quite frankly, unfairly — been chipping away at cigar smokers’ rights,” says Zaretsky. Because these new regulations are such a broad overreach of the regulatory authority granted to FDA by Congress in 2009, three industry groups have filed suit against the agency to have the Deeming Rule rescinded. Mark Pursell, CEO of the International Premium Cigar and Pipe Retailers Association, noted in a statement: “After a thorough and detailed legal review, we are challenging this unlawful regulatory action in federal court to protect the statutory and constitutional rights of our industry and its members.” Cigar Association of America President Craig Williamson added, “We hoped the FDA would craft a flexible regulatory structure that accounted for the uniqueness of our industry. Instead, we got a broad, one-size-fits-all rule that fails to account for how cigars and premium cigars are manufactured, distributed, sold and consumed in the United States. The FDA exceeded its statutory authority and violated the federal rulemaking process when crafting this set of broad and sweeping regulations.”
The details of this suit, along with regular updates on additional filings and motions, are currently posted at the Famous Smoke Shop Cigar Rights site, so that consumers can follow the industry’s fighting against FDA’s massive regulatory changes.
The new Famous Smoke Shop Cigar Smokers’ Rights Hub details many of the changes the FDA has made regarding their tobacco enforcement measures, including how premium cigars will become more expensive, due to the added costs of FDA approval fees being passed to retailers and consumers. The Hub also lays out how the selection of cigars currently available for sale will likely become smaller, as the new FDA rules will force some existing brands off the market — while limiting the influx of new cigars on store shelves: “that rich tradition of Innovation by cigar makers will be stifled,” says Cigar Advisor’s John Pullo. This, he says, is why cigar lovers can educate themselves with the helpful service that Famous provides. “We as cigar enthusiasts need to empower ourselves with information about the regulation of our hobby, and about the steps being taken by the FDA to unfairly limit our choices at the cigar shop and online. A resource like the Rights Hub is critical to becoming a well-informed consumer.”
