Independent East Sussex festival returns 20–22 August 2027, bringing together reggae and sound-system culture with electronic music in the Bentley Estate woodland
Following its return in August 2026, One Love / One Sun Festival has confirmed it will return to Bentley Estate, East Sussex, on 20, 21 and 22 August 2027.
The independent festival brings together two distinct musical worlds in one setting.
One Love is rooted in reggae, roots, dub and sound-system culture, while One Sun takes audiences into the Bentley Estate woodland for a journey through electronic music, ambient, acid house, jungle and drum & bass.
The 2026 return brought together generations of artists, DJs and sound systems, with a programme featuring Luciano, Bushman, Saxon Sound System celebrating 50 years, Admiral Tibet, Little Roy, University of Dub, Jah Tubbys, A Guy Called Gerald, Ray Keith, The Grid, Jagz Kooner, Mixmaster Morris and Chris Coco, among others.
Festival organiser Dan Wiltshire said:
“2026 was about bringing One Love back and creating something that felt genuinely different.
“One Love has this incredible history in reggae and sound-system culture, and we wanted to protect that rather than turn it into another generic festival.
“At the same time, One Sun gave us the opportunity to take people into the woods and explore another part of underground British music ambient, acid house, jungle, drum & bass and electronic music.
“Those cultures have much more in common than people might initially think. They grew through sound systems, independent promoters, underground spaces and communities creating something outside the mainstream.”
BUILDING ON THE 2026 RETURN
With the 2027 dates now confirmed, the organisers have almost a full year to develop the next edition.
Rather than simply increasing the scale of the festival, the focus will be on building the experience throughout Bentley Estate, developing the contrast between One Love and One Sun and reaching a wider audience while retaining the independent character of the event.
Wiltshire continued:
“There were moments this year when you could leave a reggae sound system, follow a path into the woods and suddenly find yourself somewhere completely different.
“That sense of discovery is a huge part of what we want One Love / One Sun to become.
“We’re coming back in 2027 with a full year to develop it, and we’re only at the beginning of what we think this festival can be.”
2027 LINE-UP TO BE ANNOUNCED
The first One Love / One Sun 2027 artists, DJs and sound systems will be announced over the coming months.
The festival will continue to place reggae and sound-system culture at the heart of One Love while developing the woodland-based One Sun programme across electronic and underground music.
The organisers are also working on new experiences, partnerships and improvements across the festival site following feedback from the 2026 event.
NEW WAYS TO EXPERIENCE ONE LOVE / ONE SUN
The festival has also introduced more flexible ticket options for 2027.
A limited release of Weekend Loyalty Tickets is currently available for £100, with camping included at no additional cost and completely optional.
For audiences who want to experience the festival without camping, new non-camping Loyalty Day Tickets start at £35 for Friday and £45 for Saturday.
The new day-ticket structure is designed particularly to open the festival to more people across Sussex, London and the wider South East who can travel to Bentley for the day and return home afterwards.
The festival is also exploring improved local transport connections for 2027.
Campervan/live-in vehicle passes have been reduced to £60 for the weekend, while the festival continues its commitment to making the event accessible to families, with under-12s attending free.
Wiltshire added:
“Festivals shouldn’t have to be all or nothing.
“If you want to come and live with us for the weekend, you can. If you’d rather come for a day, experience the music and the estate and then sleep in your own bed, you can do that too.
“We want to grow the audience without losing the atmosphere that made the return so special.”
